A narrative drummed up from a boring, grainy, analog past.

Micheal Earl Craig Poem
I just got this Micheal Earl Craig book, its got this poem on the back.
From Can You Relax in My House:
Montgomery
He wore a beautiful hat in massive mahogany
which he unscrewed and set on the bureau.
He loosened his tie and walked over
to the window; from there he could see
down into the courtyard where his dog was
tied, in the rain, to a tall hedge.
He kept his back to the room:
a silver probang lay on a black cushion;
a jar of tongue depressors; various calipers;
an old-looking telephone
with what looked to be white icing on the mouthpiece.
Montgomery tapped the ash off his cigar.
He cleared his throat and spoke: “No.
I said I saw a pile of hurdles
behind the meat plant.” The nurse
held her clipboard defensively.
She nodded. She wrote: “Is
quite handsome. Is in need of a bath.”

I’m in this collage show too. Opening this Friday 8/7 at A.P.E. in Northampton.
Sincerely,
C.S. Ward
Northampton’s group of notorious collagers is back again for Mag Hags II, the big and bold sequel to last summer’s smash hit, Mag Hags. Ever changing and ever pushing the collage envelope, these collagers will not settle for a pale repeat of the original Mag Hags show that took Northampton’s collage world by storm last August. Oh no. With the mantra “bigger and more difficult” in their heads, these collage artists got down to work on brand new pieces custom made for Mag Hags II.
But what does “Bigger and More Difficult” mean? Bigger means big collages. Maybe even massive ones. Expect to get your socks knocked off. And more difficult? Well, you’ll just have to come out to the show and see for yourself what “more difficult” means to Angela Zamarelliand Liz Diamond, Ryan Feeney and Ryan MacDonald, Jena Sujat and Jono Tosch, Emily Hunt Ben Estes Mark Leidner Rachel Glaser Joshua Vrysen Crystal Regan and DJ Dan Cashman! Wow! That’s a great bunch of trained and untrained collagers! Come out, see their work, watch them make collage LIVE IN THE GALLERY!
Mag Hags II opens on August 5th at A.P.E., the big window gallery on Main Street. Arts Night Out reception on Friday, August 12, 6:00 PM. Be there or be square!
